Atheism 2. Cause and Effect

The idea that the Universe needs to conform to Cause and Effect is just one of those rather bizarre notions that Creationists hang onto because it means they can continue to force a Prime Mover into the beginning of time. In actual fact - since cause and effect break down at the minutest levels - and physics itself cannot show that normal rules apply at the point the universe becomes a singularity at the very beginning - Cause and Effect can only be shown to work for macroscopic objects IN this universe - the universe need not subscribe to laws it - itself - gives rise to. Moreover,even if one presumes God as a creator - then God himself by the same reasoning would need a cause and effect explanation.Creationists seem to go silent on this point.
