Atheism 21.Thou shalt have no other Gods beside me |
Christians use all sorts of warped logic to arrive at believing
in God - but no matter what method they use, they cannot deny that other people
belief other daft things too, sometimes using the same warped logic. If the
other groups of peope believe something as fervently as they via faith, and
the other ideas are mutually exclusive then they cannot both be right. If some people believed the earth was flat and others that it was round and neither proved their case - we know for a fact that only one of them can be right. The same is true of faith - some of the beliefs maintained by different people are mutually exclusive and so Christians have no right to maintain that THEIR belief has any priority over any others derived by the same means. This is why on many forums atheists will argue for their belief in the invisible flying spaghetti monster or invisible pink elephants, because they are just as unlikely as a God and cannot be proven in the same way. I have even seen people try to contest the methodology of proof by saying it is a faith, which of course it is not. |

Atheists, please prove that "proof" "exists", without circular reasoning.? I.e. don't say this is what "proof" "means" (this is circular reasoning, since in saying that it "means" this or that, you are implying that it exists as this or that.) 36 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer. Proof exists only in your mind... it's your "GOD"... get it? 26 minutes ago
Nate... this is circular reasoning... you are saying "object falls" means "Proof of gravity"... hence you are saying "proof" exists as "proof" of gravity.... You've proven nothing. 20 minutes ago
Character by the name of "O"... yes, this is the "premise" of my question (Godel, Alan Turing, et al)... The limits of reasoning... 18 minutes ago
Captain, absolutely. Maybe the question as you "see" it in your "dream land" brain doesn't exist. I can't prove that it does because it may be impossible for you to convey your chemical thoughts into words. 5 minutes ago

Didn't you ask this same question with a rant attached to it a couple of days ago? Why are you asking again? If I'm not mistaken, you received numerous answers.
Edit: Yes, you did and you picked my answer as best answer so you could be obnoxious and insulting. You're not worth the time or the trouble. Its a math concept. Take a geometry class and you'll get it.
Science is about evidence. Evidence is something you can measure and examine that leads you to a conclusion. Surely you aren't denying that something like that isn't real? 33 minutes ago 6 Rating: Good Answer 1 Rating: Bad Answer Report Abuse by Skeptiki... Look at the flowers and trees around you. There's no way you can tell me that proof doesn't exists. Plus proof exists outside of space so you'll go to hell if you deny the existence of proof. When something, such as gravity, consistently occurs in a uniform fashion the repeat tests for it are considered to support the fact that it does in fact happen. You only need to drop an object to support gravity as an idea. These supporting things are called proof, and unless you're telling me dropping an object does not support gravity then proof exists. 32 minutes ago 0 Rating: Good Answer 0 Rating: Bad Answer Report Abuse by Captain Member since: July 28, 2010 Total points: 884 (Level 2) Add to My Contacts

Everybody knows that absolute proof is impossible. Kant proved that. I say that reality is exactly what it appears to be. Do you have a test to prove me wrong? If not, it's a difference that makes no difference.

I accept evidence, rather than proof, and reason rather than the irrational. What virtue does evidence have beyond its appearance to be itself, and reason beyond that it appears to be constantly valid? I would say none. Until something better is offered, however, they appear the only games in town. Source(s): "I am a man, not a Number."

Some things are not provable. Hence the need for axioms or postulates.
In fact, read about Gödel's incompleteness theorems. He proved that a complete and consistent set of axioms for all of mathematics is impossible to find, therefore there will always be unprovable propositions. 21 minutes ago 2 Rating: Good Answer 0 Rating: Bad Answer Report Abuse by Meklar Member since: June 10, 2010 Total points: 8372 (Level 5) Badge Image:
