DNA is not an enigma - yes it contains loads of information and it is hard to see how all that information got in there,but it doesn't need a designing hand to do it.

DNA is made from simpler molecules,base acids. These molecules are themselves made up of basic chemical elements forged in stars. The elements Nitrogen,Carbon,Hydrogen and Oxygen are not enigmas, we know they came to be. We know from chemical bonding and valency that these will be attracted to each other. Chemical compounds such as water are made all the time. Water is made from Hydrogen and Oxygen - both gases,and yet when combined these make a liquid. Theists have asked me 'How does an atom KNOW which other atom to join to?' - This is a misunderstanding. Valency is what determines what atoms can join to others,it is the rule of how atoms join they do not need someone to join them or determine which ones join together. Theists do not like the idea of CHANCE and RANDOMNESS because this goes against how they think the world works - but they are just plain WRONG. The world DOES work by exploiting those concepts whether they like it or not. Because they don't know how it works,doesn't mean they can revert to God as an explanation in lieu of their lack of understanding. Once you have DNA then you can make cells,once you have cells,evolution makes organisms more and more complex - there is no place for any God to play a part. Theists complain we don't know how life started as we can't make life in a lab - but we can,what's more we can make snowflakes to order - do they seriously think God makes snowflakes? We know how they form and we know how DNA works - any enigma is their own ignorance of science. DNA is now being used not only to engineer life,but used as a data storage device. Life is not some magical mystery - it is organic chemistry. If left to theist notions we have a non-explanation - only science has the real explanation. Scientists have reproduced what they think happened to create the Amino acid bases with the Miller-Urey experiment and managed to show how the basis for DNA was created. If we followed theist  lack of reasoning,the result just is not what we see in reality. Theists say that God made Eve from Adam's rib - science shows us that possibly FEMALES are the default condition and that males are made from them,not vice versa as the bible says. "It has long been believed that the female form was the default template for the mammalian fetuses of both sexes. After the discovery of the testis-determining gene SRY, many scientists shifted to the theory that the genetic mechanism that causes a fetus to develop into a male form was initiated by the SRY gene, which was thought to be responsible for the production of testosterone and its overall effects on body and brain development. " So far from women being made from man - science suggests man came from woman. Also,if we look at the myriad  male sperm that are cast upon a female egg,it is suggestive that the dominant force is feminine and not masculine, and it is the males that compete for  female attention. So why have we got a MALE GOD? Perhaps this cultural bias informed by mistaken theism has led to seeing Mother Nature as something to be dominated? "Consider, for instance, the historical naming of science as male and nature as female. Together the couple forms a deeply embedded, central metaphor of scientific discovery, one that is a favourite of Francis Bacon. In it, the scientist, always a bold, rational he, pursues nature, inevitably a passive, mysterious she. "If any man there be who, not content to rest in and use the knowledge which has already been discovered, aspires to penetrate further... to seek... certain and demonstrable knowledge," Bacon says in Novum Organum, "I invite all such to join themselves, as true sons of knowledge, with me, that passing by the outer courts of nature... we may find a way at length into her inner chambers." Bacon regularly summons his sons of knowledge to an aggressive male wooing of female nature's secrets. When nature proves approachable, stern science treats her well, deciphering her mysteries and imposing order and reason; when she resists, he puts her on the rack. "I am come in very truth leading to you nature with all her children to bind her to your service and make her your slave,"Bacon says in The Masculine Birth of Time. In Advancement of Learning, he comments, "You have but to follow and as it were hound nature in her wanderings, and you will be able, when you like, to lead and drive her afterwards to the same place again." The historical identification of science with male domination is an enduring one. in the metaphor, masculine science and feminine nature often produce offspring." Whilst on the subject of NATURE - theists seem to think they know what is NATURAL - and often think this is wrapped up with God-nonsense. For example I had one theist tell me there were only 2 genders,completely ignoring Hermaphroditism - where one person can have both sexual organs. Of course,if you steep yourself in the flawed and ignorant teachings of the bible,it is no wonder you make mistake after mistake.
