Stellar life,by Hubble

Eagle NebulaWhirlpool Nebula CAPTURED with stunning clarity, these are some of the clearest images yet of life unfolding millions of kilometres out into the cosmos. They were taken by Hubble and have just been released by Nasa to mark the space telescope's 15th anniversary this week. But they may well be among the last pictures ever beamed back to Earth by the telescope, which is likely to last for only another three years before it is decommissioned. Pictured top is one of the Pillars of Creation that comprise the Eagle Nebula, the place in the cosmos where stars are born. This pillar alone is more than one light-year long, big enough to stretch from our Sun to its nearest stellar neighbour. The image below shows the Whirlpool galaxy, another birthing site for stars.
