Atheism 11. Christ's Divinity |
Christ was not the son of God - because there is no God
for him to be the son of. Christians like to use circular arguments to justify
their inane beliefs. One is- that if Christ was alive and did the things
the bible claims then he MUST have been the divine sone of God because there
is no other way he could have acheived those thing - if he achieved those
things then God MUST exist therefore there is a God for him to be the son
of. The fact is there are multiple other exaplantions for how those stories came about - not least of which is the fact that today's magicians can easily reproduce everything Christ did without suggesting they are in any way divine - and since most people are sheep - that is gullible believers and at the time of Christ many were not as informed as today - it makes ready sense that so many believed that he had divine powers of the Gods -but even if he did - this is NOT reason to believe in the Christian God - we may as well say that Christ was given his powers by Zeus or any other supernatural being - it is not evidence of God. What we have is a set of stories that suggest Christ was a magician -today - from what we know of the cosmos - it is more likely that Christ connected with alien beings than it was he was the son of God - however unlikely it may be that aliens have landed here - granting him powers by way of aliens is much more likely than that he was divine - there is no proof of either, and yet Christians prefer the divine explanation - why? Because it is something they would LIKE to believe - it is not something they can prove true beyond a reasonable doubt - and as long as one cannot do that - then one has an onus not to believe it at all. Note that at one time even scientists did not believe atoms existed because there was no direct evidence of them - and yet there was more circumstantial evidence for atoms than there was that Christ was divine.
